For the people behind the diagnosis

A free, online space for anyone supporting someone living with dementia. Wives, husbands, sons, daughters, partners, grandchildren, siblings, friends — you don't have to call yourself a carer to come. Most people who join don't. You're just someone trying to do the best you can for someone you love, and you need a room of people who get it.

The person with dementia doesn't attend. That's the whole point. So you can be honest about the hard bits — the guilt, the exhaustion and the days you've really struggled without worrying about being overheard. What's said in the café stays in the café.

These aren't training sessions or therapy. They're conversations. People share what's working, what's not, the small wins and the bad weeks. You can come every week, drop in occasionally, sit quietly with your tea, camera on or camera off — whatever you need.

Jack Is Your Event Lead

Jack’s mum was diagnosed with Young-Onset Alzheimer’s in May 2024. Dementia Life was created after seeing that there was a significant lack of support for people like him, the family of the person living with Dementia.

Jack wanted to ensure that people in the future wouldn’t have to feel the same isolation and abandonment he had felt. Dementia Life is here to bring together people in similar situations and build a community support network that’s experienced and not medically led.
