Workplace Dementia Awareness Training
Dementia affects one in three people born today. It doesn’t only happen in care homes.
It happens in workplaces.
As of 2026 there are nearly one million people living with dementia in the UK. This number grows significantly if you include those going through the diagnosis pathways or even those just worried that something is wrong. Behind every diagnosis is a network of family members, friends, and colleagues whose lives are profoundly affected. Many of those people are in your workforce.
Right now, members of your team are likely caring for someone with dementia, worrying about a parent’s memory, or quietly struggling with something they don’t know how to talk about.
Most of them won’t tell you about it. Not unless you create the conditions for them to feel they can.
Our workplace training goes beyond clinical awareness. It’s built on lived experience, not textbooks, and it equips your people with practical understanding, compassion, and confidence around dementia.
Every programme is tailored to your organisation and built for your industry, your people, your specific needs.
Why It Matters for Your Organisation
What Makes Dementia Life Traning Different?
Most corporate dementia training is clinical and detached. It tells people what dementia is but not what it feels like. Especially for the people around them. Our founder Jack, built Dementia Life because the support for family, friends and loved ones, that he needed at the time, didn’t exist. That lived experience is what makes people listen, connect, and actually take something away from the room.
Our training is personal and authentic. Real stories, not scripted scenarios. We make sure that people leave with things they can do, not just things they now know. We aim to help people going through this and for those that aren't it gives a sense of compassion, understanding and empathy that will improve work place relationships.
Our training addresses the emotional reality of dementia — the grief, the guilt, and the impact on identity and relationships — because that’s what actually helps people support each other.
Our Training Sessions

Beyond a Diagnosis
Understanding Dementia
A foundational session that gives your team a genuine understanding of what dementia is, what it isn’t, and what it actually means for people. We cover the types of dementia in human terms, bust the common myths, and talk honestly about the emotional journey — for the person with dementia and for everyone around them.
90 minutes • In-person or online

Building Relationships
Communication & Connection
A practical session on how to communicate with someone living with dementia, and how to have the conversations that matter with colleagues who are affected. We work through real workplace scenarios as a group and explore why seemingly small interactions can make a bigger difference than you’d think.
90 minutes • In-person or online

Finding the balance in responsibilities
Supporting Working Carers
Particularly relevant for managers and HR teams. This session addresses the hidden challenge of employees balancing work with caring responsibilities — often in silence. We cover practical adjustments, building a carer-friendly culture, and why self-compassion isn’t a luxury for the people carrying this weight.
90 minutes • In-person or online

Understanding Anticipatory Grief
Grief, Loss & Living With Dementia
A deeper session exploring the emotional landscape of dementia — the anticipatory grief, the shifting relationships, and how to find meaning and connection even in the hardest moments. This one creates space for people to share and reflect, and helps workplaces acknowledge a form of bereavement most people have never been taught to recognise.
90 minutes • In-person or online
